Exploration of Talents Training for Industrial Internet Under the Background of Industry 4.0

The progress of technology application in the industry revolution 4.0 was accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Almost all sectors can be done online and it makes the internet industry grow rapidly. Many jobs are starting to be replaced by machines in this era. Therefore, the exploration and development of talent for the industrial internet is very important for millennials and the generation after it to always adapt to technological growth.

As a contribution to the national and international scope of industrial internet development, the University of Computer Science and Technology (STEKOM University) organized a visiting international lecture collaboration with Changzhou College of Information Technology of China and the International Cultural Communication Center of Malaysia. The theme of this event was "The Exploration of Talents Training for Industrial Internet Under the Background of Industry 4.0". This event was held on September 9, 2021, online via Zoom and live stream on the STEKOM University YouTube channel with 334 participants attendance.

The international activity took place from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The Rector of STEKOM University, Dr. Joseph Teguh Santoso, M.Kom, delivered the opening speech at the beginning of the event. Moderated by Mary from the International Cultural Communication Center Malaysia and the speakers of this event were Mr. Shi XinMin and Setiyo Adi Nugroho, SE, M. Kom.

The first presentation was delivered by Mr. Shi XinMin. Various topics regarding training and talent development in the industrial internet field were presented in a complete and informative way. Mr. Shi XinMin shared from the definition of the industrial internet to strategies in developing and exploring talent in this field. He also explained that universities have a big role in developing the quality of industrial internet talent in this 4.0 industrial era.

After the basic concepts of the industrial internet were presented in the first material session, STEKOM University Lecturer, Setyo Adi Nugroho, SE, M.Kom. shared more detailed and specific topics in the second session. Matching with the field that has been carried out as a computer graphic lecturer for more than 14 years, he presented about the digitization of product design and service development in industry 4.0. According to him, the combination of three-dimensional design and augmented reality can provide more meaning and interactive experiences. Setyo Adi Nugroho, M.Kom., even said that 3D design skills are a must for every product designer in every product design in this era.

It is undeniable that the education sector, especially for high schools, has a big positive influence on the development of the human resource talent quality. For example, STEKOM University provides various departments in the field of Information Technology with learning systems that are innovative, creative, and adapt to what industries need to increase the number and quality of digital talent in Indonesia.

However, although the education sector has a high influence, the influence of each individual is also very important. This webinar gives a depiction that in the industry revolution 4.0 era, almost everything grows and moves quickly. So, whether a person's talents and qualities can develop faster than that also depends on the internal motivation of each individual to always learn and develop their talent in this era.
